About
The Wolfson Electron Microscopy Suite (WEMS) is a user facility dedicated to scanning and transmission electron microscopy, supporting research across a wide range of materials systems.
WEMS provides advanced instrumentation that delivers spatially resolved information on atomic structure, crystallography, microstructure and defects, as well as chemical composition, strain, and functional properties, down to atomic resolution. Instrumentation includes SEMs, (S)TEM, FIB-SEMs, specialised specimen holders and ancillary equipment.
Located in the Department of Materials Science in the University of Cambridge, in a building partly funded by the Wolfson Foundation, WEMS is accessible to all university research staff and students, as well as external academic and industrial visitors. For more details about the Suite, including microscope access and training, please see the individual links.
